Sheets Hung Out Too Long?

The blogs are alive today with people fretting about Sheets, and whether he should have been allowed to pitch a complete game last night.

I get it. Knowing that he tends to get injured, why let Sheets throw 123 pitches when there were others in the bullpen, etc. etc. etc.

But isn't there something to be said, too, for just going with a good thing? The Brewers haven't won two in a row in Pittsburgh since who knows when...and this is their first road series win.

How about we all just enjoy it and be glad Benny made it through OK. It's not about what happened yesterday; it's about what happens next.

Sheets said it perfectly in a post-game interview: "You got to add on. These two wins are nothing now, because they're done."

For the love of Teddy Higuera! He is the ace...he's supposed to throw complete games and, most important, EAT INNINGS! Their bullpen will be toast (well on their way, hello Gagne) by August once the hot summer seeps in.

If they want back in the race, they need the starters to step up. As a Cubs fan living in Brewers land, I am constantly amazed at how the focus is always on Rickie, Billy and the Bullpen. The reason you didn't win last year, and will be if you don't this year, is because you don't have starters that go past the 6th. You cannot survive the summer without strong starters.

He's Supposed To Pitch Complete Games! Take off the kid gloves...frankly, he's gotten plenty of rest over the years!
